On May 17, 1977, in Euless, Texas; Patricia Medlin and McKinley Rogers Sr became the proud parents of Calleen 'Niecy' Medlin. Niecy was raised in Fort Worth, Texas, she was the baby of her four siblings. Niecy attended Fort Worth Public Schools. She worked in hospitality industry in several hotels for many years. She as worked in medical field as a home health care provider. Niecy was engaged to her fiancé Leonard Charles Owens.

On January 18, 2023, in Fort Worth, Texas, Niecy left her earthly home from labor to reward.

She is preceded in death by her fiancé Leonard Charles Owens, her grandmother May Etta Sherman; her father, McKinley Rogers Sr: her sister Debra Pickens; her brothers, Anthony Rogers, McKinley Rogers, and Michael Rogers; her nephew Cameron Miller.
